The Tampa Bay Rays and the Oakland Athletics came to the Tropicana Field on Saturday to play the first “scheduled” doubleheader in the big leagues since 2011, and only the second since 2011. From the scoreboard graphics to the uniforms (at least for the Rays’) to concessions (TV dinners and fried Twinkies, anyone?), the theme was retro.
Here’s what it looked and felt like to be at the Trop on this (very long) day at the ballpark.
