The number of patients a hospital can handle changes based on staffing. Hospitals can also expand in times of crisis. Since April 3, Broward Health North's max ICU capacity has decreased 26.5 percent, from 34 to 25. Their total beds have decreased 11.7 percent from 283 to 250.
