May 1, 2013 — Miramar

Jean N. Printemps, 28, tried to rob a group of people at gunpoint in Pembroke Pines, eventually taking their Honda.

Two Miramar officers spotted the car in an apartment complex around 11 p.m. At some point, the confrontation turned violent. Printemps was shot to death.

A gun was found in the car but it is not clear whether he fired at police. Printemps had pleaded guilty to an armed carjacking charge in 2007. (The Times could not verify the names of the officers involved in this case.) Read more
