About 9:20 p.m., a woman and her 14-year-old son were at their home when the woman's ex-boyfriend attacked her, punching her repeatedly.

The man, 42, had recently moved out of the house. The boy phoned police, who heard the woman screaming as they arrived. Police said that the man armed himself with a gun.

Officers fired from outside the home, striking him. The man still had the gun when they went inside and more shots were fired. Read more
