May 4, 2013 — Miami

Passengers on a transit bus reported that a man was waving a gun.

Officers Janet Henry and Krystal Spence-Scarlett confronted Frito Valcin, 38, as he was getting off the bus near Miami Dade College's North Campus.

Shots were fired and Valcin fell. Officers then noticed that he had a grenade in his other hand and they called the bomb squad. Valcin died at the scene. Read more
