May 15, 2014 — New Port Richey

Patrick Tillery, upset over his purchase at Rock Bottom Auto Sales in Hudson, broke the window of one car and set two other cars on fire.

According to authorities, deputies arrived at his house at 1 a.m. to arrest him. Tillery's wife told them that he was not home but allowed the deputies to search.

Two deputies found him in a bedroom in a shooter's stance, pointing a Luger pistol. During an exchange of gunfire, Tillery, 43, was killed. Read more

Sgt. Jeremy Colhouer fired three rounds and hit Tillery once in the chest and once in the lower abdomen.

Deputy Hans Bollenbacher fired two rounds but missed him. Tillery missed the deputies with four rounds.

Jessica Tillery was charged with accessory after the fact to arson.

This was the 52nd police shooting in Florida in 2014.

Two days earlier, four officers shot one person in Citrus Springs .

One day later, one officer shot one person in Clearwater .
