Jermaine Green, a former New York Giant, was shot multiple times by Daytona Beach police after they were called because of reports of Green holding his girlfriend at knife point.

According to witness reports and statements made by the girlfriend, an argument escalated when Green threw a brick at her head and held a knife to her throat before barricading them in a bedroom and using her as a human shield when confronted by police.

Police ordered Green, 32, to put down the knife, firing multiple shots when he attempted to stab his girlfriend in the chest. Nine shots were fired and both Green and the woman, Katrina Johnson, were injured by gunfire. Read more
